September 19, 2022: CHS, through its USAID-funded TB ARC II activity and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health National TB Program, hosted TB/HIV partners in Kenya for a one-day meeting to discuss TB/HIV progress, challenges, and sustainable interventions.
The quarterly meeting brought together TB/HIV implementing partners funded by various donors, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with an overall aim of ensuring all activities at the county level are in line with the strategic initiatives of the National TB Program, HIV Programs as well as international best practices and emerging evidence and strengthening TB/HIV implementing partners to scale up and optimise their support within the counties towards addressing the key implementation challenges at the county level.
The meeting further provided a forum to discuss:
- The 2021 County TB performance scorecard; case findings, quality of care, and TB outcome indicators by county.
- Updates on the implementation of the newly USAID and Stop TB Partnership funded Introducing New Tools Project implemented by CHS.
- The End Term Review findings of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) for Tuberculosis(TB), Leprosy, and Lung Health 2019-2023, and a brief on NSP 2023 – 2028 development.
With support from USAID, CHS, through its TB ARC II project, has been conducting TB/HIV progress meetings targeting a variety of TB/HIV implementing partners across Kenya over the last four years.
