The Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS) is proud to announce its key partnership role in hosting the 7th Kenya International Scientific Lung Health Conference (KISLHC 2026). Scheduled from August 5 to 8, 2026, in the coastal city of Diani, Kwale County, this premier gathering will bring together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, programme implementers, and advocates dedicated to accelerating progress in lung health and ending Tuberculosis (TB).
Organized by the Respiratory Society of Kenya (ReSoK) in collaboration with the National TB Program, CHS, and key sector partners, KISLHC 2026 stands as one of the most critical lung health conventions on the continent this year.
Uniting Expertise Under a Action-Oriented Theme
This year’s conference is anchored on the theme: “From Detection to Recovery: Integrated Pathways & Patient-Centered Innovations in Lung Health.”
The theme serves as a rallying call to close persistent health system gaps across the entire care continuum—from initial screening and prompt diagnosis to treatment and full patient recovery—while placing patients firmly at the center of health service delivery.
“This conference is really a call for two things: closing the gaps from screening to diagnosis, treatment, and full recovery, and designing health systems that are built around patients,” explains Dr. Nkirote Mugambi Chair of the KISLHC 2026 Scientific Committee and Chief of Party for the Tamatisha TB Project.
Highlights of the KISLHC 2026 Programme
Over four dynamic days, delegates will participate in practical skills-building, scientific exchange, and high-level strategic dialogues:
- Practical Skills-Building Workshops (Aug 5): Hands-on parallel tracks covering critical topics such as spirometry, thoracic ultrasound, interventional pulmonology, pulmonary rehabilitation, sleep medicine, TB laboratory capacity, and scientific writing.
- Plenaries & Scientific Symposia (Aug 6–8): Seven plenary sessions and five parallel symposia exploring integration in lung health, advances in lung cancer care, climate and air quality, social determinants of health, digital AI innovations, and community engagement.
- Keynote & Vision for Integrated Care: A featured address on AI in lung health by Dr. Joseph Aluoch and strategic sessions detailing Kenya’s roadmap from TB control toward integrated lung health.
