On January 22, 2015, Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Mrs Margaret Kenyatta, officially handed over the 18th Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic to His Excellency the Governor of Laikipia County, Mr Joshua Irungu.
As one of the implementing partners in Laikipia County, CHS supports Nyahururu District Hospital to implement high quality HIV prevention, care and treatment services including the prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT), which is a major goal of the Beyond Zero Campaign. In line with this campaign, CHS contributes to reducing illness and death associated with pregnancy and child birth through scaling up PMTCT services, supporting human resources for service delivery in facilities, training health care workers, strengthening community linkages and psychosocial support aimed at eliminating mother to child transmission of HIV.
