Abstract
Background
Capacity for data utilization in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) remains limited. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a structured data science capacity-building program.
Methods
A mixed-methods evaluation was conducted involving pre- and post-assessments, surveys, and follow-up interviews with participants from LMICs who attended a comprehensive data utilization training.
Results
Participants reported increased skills and confidence in data use. Many implemented new data practices in their organizations. Institutional support and mentorship significantly influenced outcomes.
Conclusion
Capacity-building initiatives that include hands-on training, mentorship, and organizational alignment are effective in bridging the implementation science gap in LMICs.
