Abstract
Background
Efficient HIV testing strategies require targeted approaches. This study explored factors associated with higher HIV positivity among clients tested through PITC.
Methods
A retrospective analysis of routine health data was conducted. Logistic regression identified client characteristics predictive of testing HIV-positive.
Results
Older age, previous testing history, being symptomatic, and attending outpatient departments were strongly associated with higher HIV positivity. PITC yield was especially high in specific age groups and patient profiles.
Conclusion
Targeting PITC to high-yield demographics can improve HIV case identification efficiency and reduce testing costs. Routine data should inform PITC strategy refinement.
